1. What is DVR ?

  DVR (Digital Video Recording)  is  a new  style of

 recording system that changes the signal of analog

 image in CCTV camera into the digital data.   DVR

 compresses and retrieves the recording images

 through the international code of H.263 or MPEG (Moving

 Picture Experts Group) so that it can display clear

 image. DVR has also a lot of strong points compare to

 current CCTV systems as,

 -  Remote Camera Control

 -  Function of magnifying image

 -  Editing

 -  Storage data permanently

 -  Remote surveillance, recording and palay-back through modem, LAN and xDSL

3. Kinds of DVR

    DVR Capture Board

  Cheaper than others because it is a form of card for normal

 PC and can be changed easily to DVR system by using the

 current PC. It is recommendable to be installed at the stable

 system because the stability of current PC affects that of DVR

 system.

PC-Type DVR

    PC-Type DVR System.

  Commonly, It is combined capture board which used for

 image recording with PC. Basically, it is using Windows 98 or

 reinforced network function NT as O/S. The system is stable

 because it is manufactured with full set product. Users can

 install easily because PTZ, sensor control function, related

 software are installed at the current PC.

    Settop Box DVR (Stand alone)

  It is a DVR system on the basis of exclusive main board having

 a general function of a personal computer. Problems that could

 occur on the PC have been prevented at the initial stage of

 planning products. This is very stable surveillance system

 because the only necessary parts have been used and

 excluded the unnecessary parts of the style of PC. But the

 price is more expensive than other models even though the

 less number of parts have been used.

SETTOP BOX

 CCD Camera

  Camera which can be used to the general DVR devices is available for

 any general CCTV camera which supports NTSC or PAL. NTSC

 transmits the image by 30fps and PAL transmits the image by 25fps.

 Each frame is made up of 2 fields.

 Voice control board

  It is necessary when the voice communication is executed through

 microphone/speaker.

 RX Receiver

  It is an electrical device which executes camera Pan/Tilt, Zoom,

 Focus control. It receives various control order of DVR and executes

 real camera control. It is possible to compose flexible install location of

 camera and DVR because the wire communication between RX

 Receiver and DVR from 1.2 km remote is possible.

 Halogen Light

  Halogen Light is used for the surveillance area at night offering the

 wide scope of illumination.

 Pan/Tilt Driver

  Pan/Tilt Driver is a device which can change the camera focus to the

 left, right, and up/down by operation of motor through the electric

 signal. It provides the function that user can change the surveillance

 area of camera by fixing Pan/Tilt driver to the general CCD camera

 together with housing. There are many kinds of products such as

 in/outdoors and explosion proof type etc.

 Network Device

  LAN Card, Modem, ISDN Adaptor are necessary to each PC in order to

 install remote surveillance system. Meantime, it is necessary that

 Router by proper network design, CSU/DSU, reserved line in order to

 support the connection by the reserved line.

 ETC

  The other additional devices are Joystick used for convenience in

 camera control, various kinds of sensors and microphone, speaker,

 amplifier for sound surveillance and broadcasting can be installed.
